John “Bennie” Wynne, age 85 of Trenton, Missouri was called to his eternal resting place with his Lord and Savior, on Thursday, February 19th 2026 in his home.
Born December 17th 1940 on the family farm in Trenton to Howard and Georgia (Lawrence) Wynne. The family farm had no electricity, telephone, running water, or inside bathroom until 1947. He worked with his dad and four brothers on the farm and surrounding farms, shucking corn with a team of horses and a wagon with a backboard.
Bennie loved his family and friends. He had a high confidence and strong convictions. He was generous to everyone who came to him in need. He built a brand new home for his parents to replace the old farmhouse. On May 9, 1967, he welcomed his son John David.
Bennie was adventurous and courageous. He was well known as a risk taker and experienced God’s protective hand many times, especially during car, motorcycle accidents, and electrocution by contacting a 13,000 voltage power line.
On December 17, 1974 he was united in marriage to Marylin Ruth McLaughlin in Tampa, Florida, choosing to be a step father to Terry, Tim and Troy Crawford.
Bennie owned Wynne Communications Inc. in the US, as well as working for six years in Equador, installing fiber optics. He and Marilyn managed Dallas Texas Truck Rental and Storage. They increased the rentals nearly 100 percent. Which impressed the owner.
In 2016 they moved back to the farm where he continued doing fiber optics installations for the state of Iowa. Bennie was also an avid pilot and owned 3 planes.
In 2009, Bennie published a book highlighting the events of his life “Close Calls, Choices, and Miracles.”
Surviving relatives include his son John David Wynne and wife Denise of El Dorado Springs, MO, step sons Tim and Troy Crawford of Afton, Ok, and a brother Lawrence “Babe” Wynne of Wichita Falls, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers Ray, Archie, and Larry Wynne, and his step son Terry Crawford.
We want to give a special "thank you" to Three Rivers Hospice for their love and compassionate care they gave Bennie, and the support to our family.
He is to be cremated under the direction of Slater Neal Funeral Home with services to be scheduled for March 21, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. with inurnment in Willis Chapel Cemetery north of Brimson.
